We helped Cygnific, an international customer service and sales organization, develop an ESG strategy that brings together existing & new initiatives into one clear story. This strategy shows what Cygnific stands for and how Cygnific wants to position itself in a sector where sustainability is becoming increasingly important.
From separate initiatives to a cohesive ESG Strategy
Cygnific's ambition is to take a clear position on sustainability and embed it into the organization. In practice, efforts consisted of loose initiatives without a clear owner, priority or measurement structure. This created overlap between departments, lacked overview, and it was difficult to tell a consistent story internally and externally. Kyden's question was clear: bring focus, build structure and develop an ESG strategy that gives direction and fits within the organization.
Result
Based on an outside-in and inside-out approach (peer and market analysis, stakeholder interviews) we determined which themes really make an impact for Cygnific. This resulted in seven strategic ESG priorities: from emission reduction and circularity to employee conditions and giving back.
For each theme, we formulated KPIs, ownership and initial milestones, compiled into a compact roadmap that provides direction for implementation. In this way, we turned a list of actions into a reasoned strategy.
Impact
With the new ESG strategy, Cygnific has a single clear framework that allows leadership to focus on progress and decision-making. Roles and responsibilities have been defined for each theme, creating clear governance and making ESG no longer dependent on separate initiatives. With a roadmap that provides insight into quarterly milestones and dependencies, Cygnific now has an ESG approach that provides direction.
In addition, the strategy provides clear guidance for next steps around certification to clearly claim its distinctive position in the market.
