Dual Materiality Analysis: an essential step in sustainable ambitions
How do we determine which ESG themes are relevant to us, to fuel our sustainability strategy as well as to comply with CSRD legislation?
Solution
Using a Dual Materiality Analysis, we identified which ESG themes are material to Corendon. In other words, which environmental, social, and/or governance themes does Corendon affect, or are affecting, Corendon?
Through a series of stakeholder interviews, conversations with employees, a benchmark study, and steering committee sessions with Corendon's board of directors, among others, we gathered a wide range of perspectives. Together, the insights from all these perspectives determine which themes are material and which are not.
The dual materiality analysis laid an important foundation for the reporting requirement under European sustainability legislation (CSRD). In addition, the analysis provides extensive insight into how Corendon is viewed internally and externally. This provides valuable insights for enriching Corendon's sustainability strategy.
